Otto first joined the Out-of-Home industry in 1976 and has been serving as the President of PATTISON Outdoor since 2004, where he also advises on the board for the Canadian Out of Home Marketing and Measurement Bureau (COMMB).

PATTISON Outdoor Reaches Donors with Digital Donation Wall in Support of #SheToo
/in Press Release /by PATTISON OutdoorA PATTISON Outdoor digital matrix accepts donations via a “tap-to-give” payment terminal in support of CARE Canada’s #SheToo initiative, which is part of CARE’s March4Women campaign.
TORONTO, ON, April 4, 2018 – PATTISON Outdoor, Canada’s leading Out-of-Home advertising company and its digital innovation arm, Fourthwall teamed up with Jungle Media to promote CARE Canada’s She Too movement in an interactive campaign that launched this week in Toronto’s PATH. In the execution, a PATTISON digital matrix is reframed as a digital donation wall, where passersby are offered an opportunity to directly engage with CARE’s overall mission. The She Too campaign is a part of CARE’s March4Women initiative, which aims to overcome poverty and discrimination by creating equal rights and opportunities for women and girls in developing countries.
“CARE’s She Too campaign is capturing the momentum of a global movement raising awareness and action for women everywhere. Not just in Hollywood or in North America, but in developing countries where women might not have a safe place to share their story and get support,” says Kasia Souchen, Digital Marketing Manager at CARE Canada. “Together with PATTISON, we’re eager to engage with Torontonians on this important issue and offer an easy way to make a real difference in the lives of women and girls in developing countries.”
Found in the Royal Bank Plaza of Toronto’s downtown PATH, CARE Canada’s four-week interactive stunt is a first for the charitable organization, and the Canadian Out-of-Home industry. With Fourthwall handling the production and installation, the “tap-to-donate” panel was designed to accept preset donations of $5 using a cashless payment terminal, accepting credit and debit cards as well as smart phone payments. A full-motion digital spot, vinyl poster and branded payment panel were also designed by Fourthwall to direct passing donors to the terminal. To complement the campaign, brand ambassadors from CARE Canada will be scheduled on-site for a portion of the campaign to answer any questions consumers may have about the organization and its work.
“We are proud to work with Jungle Media and support CARE Canada in their mission of bringing awareness to women across the globe,” says Dmitri Melamed, Vice President and General Manager of Fourthwall. “The cashless payment solution offers passersby who are in a hurry or who do not have exact change, the ability to make simple and quick donations to this great cause.”“
“The digital stunt is a compelling aspect to this campaign,” says Catherine Ramsey, Media Planner at Jungle Media. “The simple contactless donation system bridges the gap between building impassioned awareness and making real change in the moment. We are thrilled to include this impactful execution as a part of our campaign this year.”
Appearing in the busy retail concourse of Toronto’s Royal Bank Plaza, this execution is a part of a larger, general awareness campaign in-market since March 1 that includes PATTISON Transit Interior Cards in Calgary, Ottawa and Toronto; PATH posters; TTC digital network creative, along with newspaper insertions, TV Closed Captioning placements, other Out-of-Home spots and digital display advertising.

Edmonton International Airport Welcomes Travellers with New Samsung 4K HDR LED Display
/in Press Release /by PATTISON OutdoorThe 32’ x 12’ landmark 4K HDR LED display now provides travelers with critical information in the highest traffic central security terminal area.
Mississauga, ON – April 10, 2018 – Travelers passing through Edmonton International Airport (EIA) can now enjoy Canada’s largest 4K HDR LED display within an airport, thanks to a new state-of-the-art installation by Samsung Canada and PATTISON Outdoor Advertising. Every day, 9,000 travelers pass through the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) central security area at EIA[1], spending a significant amount of dwell time there.
To help reduce stress levels and elevate the travel experience overall, key information ranging from security waiting periods to gate time and details will be shown on the new 4K HDR LED display. Given that close to 40 per cent of global airport revenues are estimated to come from non-aeronautical sources[2], the stunning landmark LED screen is also used to advertise onsite EIA retail, food and beverage options, parking and more. The board will also be able to provide emergency updates in special circumstances as well as entertainment and live broadcast coverage.
“As a leader in digital technology, we are pleased to partner with the EIA and PATTISON teams to create the largest 4K HDR LED airport display in Canada – an innovative and stunning solution that has the ability to help elevate the travel experience for passengers,” said Mary Peterson, Vice President, IT & Enterprise Solutions, Samsung Canada.
Samsung has the ability to build seamless video walls that can adapt to any dimension, shape or curve. The stadium-screen sized display at EIA is 32’ x 12’ in size, providing eye-catching, bright and detailed image quality from wide viewing angles thanks to its fine 2.5mm pixel pitch.
The new Samsung IF series boasts innovative HDR technology, creating a true-to-life viewing experience with high quality content. With limited wall space available for mounting within EIA’s central security area, the dynamic, dual-sided 4K HDR LED display was installed from the ceiling for maximum visibility and impact.
“This extraordinary Samsung digital display screen was exactly what we needed for our drive to digitize our terminal,” said Myron Keehn, Vice President of Air Service and Commercial Development, Edmonton International Airport. “This board allows us to improve our passenger experience by providing travelers with information more efficiently as well as provide opportunities for advertisers to promote their product or services on state-of-the-art technology at EIA.”
PATTISON Outdoor, Canada’s largest Out-of-Home advertising provider and leader in airport advertising, manages the advertising operations for EIA. Providing EIA and its clients with high-quality products in highly sought-after locations, PATTISON prides itself on offering clients total advertising solutions that include everything from campaign conception, to design, through to completion. With PATTISON, advertisers benefit from a range of services to optimize their campaign. PATTISON’s full range of premium product formats in high-dwell areas at the EIA give advertisers an exceptional opportunity to engage a desirable consumer group made up of a higher-than-average income demographic.
“Located at central security, the display targets a desirable and high-income consumer group made up of domestic and international travellers, and pairs advertising alongside timely airport information,” said Brian de Ruiter, Vice President and General Manager, Prairie Region at PATTISON Outdoor. “This integrated wayfinding solution displays time and security waiting periods, and demonstrates our commitment to growing our digital airport portfolio at the Edmonton Airport and to offering advertisers highly-visible and premium products in exclusive settings.”
