The vaccine rollout could have triggered an increase in daily population movement across Canada, as we see Canadians movement outside of the home steadily rising from earlier this year.
End of April Shows Canadian Mobility At 93% of the 2019 Baseline
➡️ Canadians’ movement outside the home has increased to 93% of the pre-pandemic level in the last week of April 2021.
➡️ Canadians’ movement during Business Hours (Weekdays 9am-5pm) has also reached almost 90% of the pre-pandemic level, at 87% in the last week of April 2021.
In the chart above, the last two weeks of April show a positive increase in the percentage of Canadians travelling outside of the home, especially during the 9-to-5 workday, as warmer weather and longer days combine with an acceleration in vaccinations across the country.
